Dr.-Ing. Michael Raß has been a partner and managing director of the management consultancy fjol GmbH since mid-September 2016.

Circular thinking, efficient and resource-conserving production, sustainable procurement in global supply chains and successful sustainability marketing in dialog with retailers and consumers are the central topics that Michael Raß stands for today at fjol with his many years of first-hand experience as founder and managing partner of Teutoburger Ölmühle.

As a trained and responsible sustainability manager, he introduced the ZNU sustainability standard “Sustainable Food Management” at Teutoburger Ölmühle as a pilot company back in 2012. He has also been a member of the advisory board of the ZNU at Witten/Herdecke University since 2009.

Michael Raß had developed Teutoburger Ölmühle into the German market leader for cold-pressed rapeseed oils and organic cooking oil specialties by the time he left the company in May 2016. Teutoburger Ölmühle has received numerous innovation and sustainability awards as a sustainable flagship company in the industry, including the “German Founder Award” in 2007.

After graduating from high school and training as a general mechanic, he studied energy and process engineering at the University of Essen, graduating with a degree in engineering. Michael Raß then worked at the University of Essen as a research assistant in the field of food process engineering and completed his doctorate on the subject of “Environmentally friendly oilseed processing”. In 2000, he founded Teutoburger Ölmühle as a start-up in Ibbenbüren, North Rhine-Westphalia, as a greenfield investment. Michael Raß is married and has two grown-up children.
